Project Overview

Disadvantaged children below age of 3 are most at risk of malnutrition, in our campaign to promote good nutrition on the Island we sensitize the community on fighting malnutrition and its long term negative impact on children health, we deliver community based education on dietary diversification through crop diversification. Being traditionally a fishing community we advocate for behavioral change, in addition to traditional crops families are encouraged to farm vegetables, fruits and millets also poultry for eggs. Children already affected by malnutrition are put under a special treatment and feeding program monitored by LVC in collaboration with the District Hospital Nutrition unit.
