Volunteers tasks and responsibilities available at LVC
1. Participating in LVC villages outreach focusing on delivering support to disadvantaged children and families in the community.
2. Helping with improving the organisation data management systems (Data of children and support given).
3. Training basic computer skills and English to young people to help improve and better their chances of finding jobs or access higher education.
4. Teaching sports, games and songs to little children at LVC centre to help develop their social skills and abilities which is key to their development and growth.
5. Do construction/refurbishment work in local villages: The refurbishment focuses on improving community Health and Education facilities so vulnerable children and families in villages can access education and health. Work may include painting, flooring, and carpentry etc. all work is done with support from local workmen.
6. Training and coaching a vulnerable children football team in Bulamba village , children aged 11 – 14 with dreams to play professional football when they grow up
7. Capacity building training to LVC staff in organizational management skills, project proposal writing and financial management.


Volunteer’s arrangement for food and accommodation:
LVC will manage and coordinate volunteer’s accommodation and food according to their needs. Traditionally, volunteers are put up in hotels close to LVC centre and have lunch at the centre and dinner at their hotels. Apart from food and accommodation, volunteer’s placement at LVC is subject to small donation towards LVC projects which must be agreed by the volunteer in advance. The donation amount is negotiable depending on the volunteer budget, duration of volunteering and chosen activities.
Visa and travel arrangements:
A volunteer will be required to take care of their travel arrangements including visa application, vaccination etc, if required LVC can provide visa application support such as invitation letter or other relevant documents: The volunteer may need a Business or Tourist visa depending on what other activities they will be engaged in whilst in Tanzania. You are therefore advised to consult LVC if you are unsure about the appropriate visa requirements.
